My quick takeaways on the Anthropic S-1: 1. This is a historical moment 2. $6.6M in revenue per employee!! Hard to even comprehend how good that is but Anthropic is AI native as it gets so makes sense. 3. I always thought OpenAI would drop their S-1 first 4. Customers spend about 9x more after a year. Net Revenue Retention is approximately 900% as of Sep 30, 2026. Good SaaS companies brag about 120%. 5. Cowork is growing faster than Claude Code did. Goes to show you the demand for consumer products. Duo will probably rip. 6. 3 years ago this company did $41M in revenue. In the first six months of 2026, it did $16.3 billion. I don't think anyone has a mental model for that curve yet, I sure don’t. 7. Nearly half of revenue comes through cloud marketplaces. About 48% comes from customers…

The funkiest things my agent found in Anthropic’s S-1 👇 📚 Part of Claude’s safety training involves fictional stories about well-behaved AI. Morality tales for the chatbot. 👀 Ben Mann gets a footnote explaining that he’s often called a co-founder - but is excluded from the S-1’s definition of “co-founders” and the special founder voting group. 🇺🇸 The U.S. government owned Anthropic stock. In October 2025, Anthropic bought back ~$627M of forfeited shares and resold them to 9 investors. 🏦 Ben Bernanke gets $400K/year to sit on its Long-Term Benefit Trust. Trustees are barred from directly owning Anthropic stock. 🔒 The founders’ voting rules explicitly cover what happens if a founder is held captive. 🥑 An actual customer case study: Claude noticed a restaurant’s avocado purée was…

Anthropic S1 is officially public 💰 Two of the most visible builders behind Claude Code (@trq212 and @amorriscode) left the company last week, which many believed signaled the IPO was upon us. Based on some AI research of 6 recent tech IPOs, assuming nothing happens like the Cerebras withdrawal and refile, we’re looking at somewhere between November 17 2026 and February 28 2027 for the IPO. Anthropic valuation has 15x’d since last summer. The vesting schedule is 4 years with a one-year cliff. So if you were granted $4M in RSUs only 18 months ago and left, you already have over $20M in RSUs. And that’s at today’s price and doesn’t factor in an IPO bump or dip. If you’re thinking of buying a home in SF and can afford one, you may want to snag one in the next month before thousands of new…

Anthropic's S-1 says $6.6M in revenue per employee. Not surprising if you read their paper from last week: AI agents now log 6x the hours their employees do. My AI workflows get refreshed more often than my wardrobe these days (admittedly, in tech that's a low bar). If your workflow hasn't changed in a month, it's probably worth a fresh look.

Anthropic’s S1 on its 5 sources of competitive advantage (mission, talent, research, compute, enterprise) and how it creates a flywheel for Claude. They flag these figures to show Claude flywheel working: ▫️revenue per employee of $6.6m (vs $1.4m a year earlier) ▫️average engineer code output in Q3 2026 was 45x 2024 average ▫️90%…

Anthropic just filed its S-1. Ticker: ANT on Nasdaq. Why it could be the biggest IPO ever: • Reported raise: $75B to $100B (SpaceX record: $75B) • ~$2T valuation talk • Run-rate revenue: $9B to $65B in 7 months • First operating profit in Q2 • OpenAI isn't listing till 2027

Anthropic picked the ticker $ANT for its IPO, which makes a lot more sense after reading this bullet point in the S1: “Our employees are known internally as ‘Ants’ — a nickname that captures the collaborative, ego-light culture of the team. Ants include many of the researchers and developers defining the frontier of AI, alongside proven operators across disciplines. Shared purpose paired with low ego translates directly into less organizational friction and greater impact per employee. Claude compounds that impact further: Ants use Claude across every function to take on work that would otherwise require substantially larger teams—allowing us to remain remarkably lean relative to our output.”

Anthropic's S-1 shows $41M in revenue in 2023, the year GPT-4 came out. In just the first half of 2026, its revenue was $16.29B, nearly 400x more. Simile CEO Joon Sung Park (@joon_s_pk) says AI simulation right now is in its GPT-4 era: "Simulation is basically in its GPT-4, GPT-4.5 era, where the technology's here to make an impact." “I see the simulation space as one that’s going to reach its maturity to a point where, in about 1.5-2 years, it will be where coding agents as an industry are today.”

SITUATION EXPLAINED: Anthropic has long warned about AI concentrating power, and its IPO filing gives its 7 co-founders 50.1% of the vote. • That 50.1% is locked in, so selling new shares won’t dilute the founders’ control • A separate share class lets the Long-Term Benefit Trust, 5 trustees with no financial stake, elect a majority of the board • The filing itself lists this concentration of voting power as a risk for public investors • It also warns its AI models could act in "unintended, misaligned, or autonomous ways," including harmful actions no user directed • Its top 5 customers make up about 25% of revenue • It estimates 5% to 7% of revenue this year came from customers who broke its usage policies or terms @theojaffee: "You think that you have voting power over Anthropic? Not…

BREAKING NEWS: Anthropic (maker of Claude) files S-1 To Go Public "Today, Anthropic, PBC filed a registration statement on Form S-1 with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission...Anthropic intends to list on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the symbol “ANT.” This is a Very Big Deal (in more ways than one). Some thoughts, but first a quick disclosure: I own a tiny stake in Anthropic. 1) I know the stock symbol is not supposed to matter at all ("a company by any other ticker would smell as sweet") but I did some research many years ago when HubSpot went public and found some evidence that for certain categories of companies the "fluency" of a ticker symbol did have a positive impact on outcome. Not causality, but definitely some correlation. It's why I chose HUBS (instead of…

SITUATION EXPLAINED: Anthropic's IPO filing shows Dario Amodei made $18M last year, and $2.7M of it went to his personal security. • Most of his pay was equity, about $9.2M in stock and $4M in options, on top of a $654K salary • The board approved the security spending, citing "bona fide business-related, heightened security concerns" • Daniela made $16.4M, including about $1.3M for security, home protection, and transportation • Dario's $18M tops Sundar Pichai's reported $10.9M, but trails the $22.8M average for S&P 500 CEOs • CFO Krishna Rao was paid about $720K, but would get $29M if terminated, or $134M after a change of control • The board includes Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings and Novartis CEO Vas Narasimhan • Former Fed chair Ben Bernanke sits on the Long-Term Benefit Trust,…
